About Bruce Comer

Bruce Comer’s career in the food service industry gave him extensive experience in fulfilling contracts on a massive scale. His first job in the industry was as a sales trainee for the Nobel Food Service Company. Within three years of joining Noble, Bruce Comer earned a promotion to the position of District Manager and became responsible for sales in Next Mexico and parts of Texas and Colorado. When Nobel was acquired by Sysco, today the world’s largest food service distributor, Bruce Comer became one of Nobel’s subcontractors.
Administering a Nobel Sysco contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bruce Comer provided food services, including subsidized lunches, to approximately 100 schools on a regular basis. Recognizing a need for a system that would more quickly and accurately account for meals served, he established Data Trac, a specialized accounting system using bar code scanners to save time and eliminate the potential for human error.
Comer’s success with the BIA contract led to larger contracts with the Department of Defense, providing food service to many military bases in the U.S. and overseas, as well as to NCOs’ and Officers’ Clubs. He established another company called P.C.A. to administer these contracts, which included the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Over the years, Bruce Comer led operations serving millions of nutritious meals on time to schoolchildren, military personnel, and casual diners. He coordinated the efforts of hundreds of employees and vendors to produce those meals, in the process learning the critical elements of these large undertakings. Leveraging those skills, Bruce Comer transitioned his career, building the Money Bar Beach Club, a restaurant and beach club on the Mexican island of Cozumel. A popular tourist destination, the Money Bar is a full-service restaurant with live entertainment and dancing; in addition, it offers a wide variety of activities, including watersports like snorkeling, scuba diving, glass-bottom kayaking, boogie boarding, and parasailing. Bruce Comer later built the Landmark of Cozumel, a luxury condominium near the Money Bar.
